THE LIQUEUR AND THE HISTORY OF THE NAME
King Italo is the true founding father of Calabria. In 1350 BC, he unified the region and began to leave deep traces in Mediterranean culture. The first ’sissizi‘ date from that period: communal meals at which the social, economic and political life of the court was woven together. King Italo succeeded in unifying the territory with war but also with peace, as Aristotle tells us. Such an evocative name was bound to be linked to typical Calabrian products. Just as King Italo unified the different souls of his people, Qual’Italy has linked clementines, oranges, citrons, lemons and bergamots.
