DONNA BRETTIA AND THE LIQUEUR IN HER HONOUR

The first woman fighter in the West is a historical heroine who freed the Cosentino area from the rule of Dionysius of Syracuse until the arrival of the Romans, and the beginning of a strenuous defence against the forces of the Empire that lasted three centuries. She is responsible for the ancient name of the Cosentine people: Bretii.

Qual’Italy’s drinking “crucetta” is dedicated to her and to all the women of this land.
